About Rafael
Rafael de Utrera is one of the distinctive voices of contemporary flamenco. Born in Utrera, Seville, he grew up surrounded by flamenco and began singing in his father’s tavern before developing a professional career that has taken him to major stages around the world.
Throughout his career, Rafael has performed alongside some of flamenco’s most celebrated artists, including Paco de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Cristina Hoyos, Joaquín Cortés, Israel Galván, Farruquito and Eva Yerbabuena. His powerful and deeply personal voice combines the flamenco tradition of Utrera with decades of international stage experience.
Artistic Background
Rafael de Utrera began his professional career singing for flamenco dance, performing with leading figures including Cristina Hoyos, Joaquín Cortés, Israel Galván, Farruquito, Eva Yerbabuena and Manuela Carrasco.
A defining chapter of his career came when Paco de Lucía invited him to join his international tour, taking Rafael to major stages across Europe, Asia and the United States. He has also worked extensively with renowned guitarists including Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Gerardo Núñez and José Antonio Rodríguez.
Alongside his work with leading flamenco artists, Rafael has developed his own solo career, performing internationally and presenting projects that combine the deep-rooted flamenco tradition of Utrera with his own artistic identity.
