Francisco Prieto “Currito” is an award-winning flamenco guitarist and composer from Córdoba, Spain. His playing combines remarkable technical precision, harmonic richness and a deeply expressive understanding of traditional flamenco.
Artistic Background
Born in Córdoba in 1984, Currito began playing the guitar at the age of five under the guidance of his father, guitarist Antonio Prieto. He made his stage debut at eleven, accompanying the renowned singer José Mercé, and received his first major award as a teenager at the Villa de Puente Genil competition.
Throughout his career, he has performed in leading tablaos such as Casa Patas and Corral de la Morería and has accompanied numerous flamenco singers and dancers. In 2016, he received the prestigious National Guitar Award at Córdoba’s National Flamenco Art Competition, establishing him as one of the most distinctive guitarists of his generation.
His first solo album, “Sensaciones”, explores the emotions and musical character of different flamenco styles, from traditional mineras, fandangos and soleares to bulerías, alegrías and rumba.
